A brief History
Australian singer-songwriter Rosaline Yuen is a versatile performer and storyteller whose unique sound is difficult to pigeonhole. Tinkering on her piano with band on stage, she can take you journey from sweetly soulful jazz inspired songs of longing to quirky, rhythmic and slightly tipsy pop-rock that will have you on your feet. Since 2005, Rosaline has performed at some of Melbourne’s finest music venues and at events such as the Human Rights Arts & Film Festival (2008). In 2008, Rosaline released her debut EP Garden worldwide through her own indie label thirtysixbird and Green/MGM. Garden received a wealth of glowing reviews with predictions this could be the beginning of a fruitful career ahead. In 2009, Rosaline collaborated with band members; drummer Ian Kitney (Tim Rogers, Rebecca Barnard), guitarist Adam Thwaites and bassist Chris Schurmann, to release a limited edition Promotional Sampler. Recorded in a little room above the Forum Theatre and at Ian’s home studio in Preston were three new songs. These songs have received airplay on stations such as RRR, Syn FM (high rotation), Joy FM and 3CR.

A new home
The NestA brand spanking new website and blog been launched for little indie music company thirtysixbird. Special thanks to upcoming digital artist Genevieve Engelhardt for designing it.
Stay tuned for details about the celebratory party! It'll be big, it'll be fun and you're all invited.
The Verdict
Earlier this year Rosaline Yuen and her band (drummer Ian Kitney, guitarist Adam Thwaites and bassist Chris Schurmann) released a Limited Edition Promotional Sampler as a teaser for what's to come.
Were people seduced by the playful, quirky, rhythmic and slightly typsy sound? Do people actually like hearing songs about tales of musicians who kiss and tell, one night stands in foreign countries and animals stalking the jungle at night?I think yes.
Rosaline's new songs have been heard on some of Melbourne's finest stations including RRR, Syn FM (chosen for high rotation), Joy FM and 3CR.
People's heads were bopping along and toes were tapping at her recent gigs at Manchester Lane, The Empress and Vibe on Smith St to these infectious tunes.
The reviews came in:
"Each of the tracks is sufficiently different enough to give the impression that Yuen is versatile and cannot be easily pigeon-holed as just another Goodrem or Higgins." - Man O'Sand, The Dwarf
The full length-album is in the works.
